Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars are set to release a new track titled “Die With a Smile” today, August 16, at 2 pm AEST as announced by Gaga on social media.

Details about the song are scarce, but the artwork hints at a possible country vibe, with both artists dressed in Western-inspired outfits. If true, they join a wave of pop stars embracing country influences this year, following in the footsteps of Beyoncé and Post Malone.
A representative confirmed that the song is a stand-alone single, marking the first new music from both artists in years. Mars hasn’t released a headlining track since his Silk Sonic collaboration with Anderson .Paak, while Gaga’s last solo album was 2020’s Chromatica.
Grammy-winning producer Andrew Watt, known for his work with the Rolling Stones and Elton John, is rumoured to be involved, having teased the collaboration on social media.
Although the title aligns with Gaga’s upcoming film Joker: Folie À Deux, this new song appears to be separate from the movie’s soundtrack.
