Scooter Braun announced Monday his retirement from managing top music stars to focus on his role as CEO of Hybe America and spend more time with his children. This move follows the departures of Demi Lovato and Idina Menzel from SB Projects, and rumours of tensions with long-time clients Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande.

In a statement, Braun reflected on over 20 years in the industry, describing a pivotal conversation with a major client that prompted his decision. “They wanted to spread their wings, and I saw it as a sign,” Braun explained.

Braun’s firm, Ithaca Holdings, merged with Hybe America in 2021, positioning him to lead U.S. operations. Balancing work and family life became increasingly challenging, especially after his 2021 divorce from Yael Cohen. “My kids were 3 superstars I wasn’t willing to lose,” he stated.

Braun will continue to support Bieber and Grande, while Allison Kaye and Jennifer McDaniels will lead SB Projects.
