Australia’s oldest distillery, Beenleigh, has slithered into the spotlight with its limited-edition Year of the Snake Rum, crafted to celebrate the 2025 Lunar New Year. With only 2,700 bottles produced, this rare release is set to charm rum enthusiasts and collectors alike.
Aged up to eight years in ex-brandy vats and ex-bourbon barrels, the rum boasts a buttery richness, warm spice, and oak undertones. Master distiller Paul Kassebaum describes it as “the kind of rum you savour slowly, letting each sip tell the story of resilience and luck—just like the Snake itself.”
The bottle’s stunning artwork, designed by QingFeng Che, brings the Snake to life with traditional motifs symbolising wisdom and prosperity. “It’s about movement and tradition, connecting love and fortune,” says Che.
Whether you’re a rum connoisseur or just love the idea of sipping on 140 years of history, Year of the Snake Rum is more than a drink—it’s a celebration in a bottle. Hurry, these snakes won’t stick around for long!
