For the uninitiated, ‘PAX Aus is a huge gaming convention held in Melbourne every year. It’s a place where people who love any and all types of gaming (PC/Console/Handheld/Board/Card) come together to celebrate their love of games and gaming culture.

This past weekend I attended for the entire three days it’s held and was blown away by how warmly I was welcomed with open arms. It doesn’t matter if you’re an “every once in a while” type of gamer like me or you’re online religiously, this event feels like home.

It’s a fantastic place to check out upcoming releases from the big studios (e.g.Nintendo was showcasing the upcoming Mario and Pokémon games), upgrade your setup (lots of products marked down to expo prices), discover your new favourite indie developers, and meet up with friends you’ve only known online.

Simply put ‘PAX Aus’ is a three-day celebration of fun, creativity, and connection. Definitely one to add to your travel bucket list!
